Walter was the third child born to Bertha and Otto. Walter and his wife
Marge are living on the home place and farming it at this writing. After Walter was
married, a second house was moved onto the place, and Bertha and Otto lived in it.
Vernon, the fourth and youngest child of Bertha and Otto, entered the ser-
vice in Begruary, 1953. He was stationed in Germany as an “In Combat Engineer,”
holding the rank of Corporal. He was discharged in February, 1955. He and his
wife, Joyce, and their family live in Columbus, Nebraska. He is employed as Head
Department Supervisor at Becton-Dickinson.
Bertha lives on in her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren as
they carry with them the memory of her beautiful smile, her beautiful flower gar-
dens, and her love for her Lord Jesus.
