Rosa and Henry were very giving people.  Whenever they visited their grand-
children, they would always come with treats such as popcorn balls.  They never
came empty handed.  When grandchildren would visit them, Rosa would make them
a Watkins fruit drink and scrape apples for them so they wouldn’t choke on large
pieces.  Rosa wrote a letter to her granddaughter, Alta, at her confirmation, that
gave her directions for her life.  Alta kept that letter and has read it many times
since.

Rosa and Henry celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1954.  In
their later years they moved to a home in Columbus.  Henry had many hobbies.
Rosa would help him with some hobbies, such as rug braiding.  They would also
come out to their children and grandchildren’s farms and help them with garden-
ing.

Henry died of a heart attack shortly after their 60th wedding anniversary in
1964.  Rosa died 4 1/2 years later at the age of 83.  Rosa was a jolly, out-going per-
son whom people enjoyed.  She and Henry had many friends, relatives, and
neighbors with whom they visited.  Such visiting was the greater part of their social
life.  Rosa will be remembered by her children, grandchildren, and all who knew
her, as a loving, caring person with Christian principles by which she lived her en-
tire life.
